What do you do when you create an Instagram account for the first time in your life, roam and explore on the platform for a while and realize it isn’t good for your mental health? You have two options, either you deactivate it or just log off and never log on.
But for Shawn Corey Carter professionally known as Jay-Z, he didn’t log off after creating an account on Instagram for the first time. He deactivated it after earning 2 million followers in less than 24 hours on the photo-sharing App. Jay-Z had only one post and followed only one person, his wife, Beyonce.
As of the time of this publication, Jay-Z’s Instagram account was nowhere to be found on the photo-sharing platform. Some people think that he created the Instagram account just to promote his new movie titled “The Harder They Fall” which is now available on Netflix.
Okay, so it looks like Jay-Z wasn’t impressed about the things he came across on Mark Zuckerberg’s Instagram and had to hit on the deactivate button and go back to focus on the important things in real life. Mark should be worried by now — and probably thinking of improving Instagram to get famous people like Jay-Z to stick to the App as just like many celebrities.
As to whether Jay-Z would return to Instagram, no one has a clue. Perhaps, we should ask Beyonce why her husband has deactivated his Instagram account after being followed by 2 million people in less than 24 hours after it was created.
Look, social media is addictive and full of toxic human beings who derive happiness in dragging others in the mud and it is obvious Jay-Z didn’t want to be on such a platform the first time he got on there. A search of the account “jayz” on Instagram wouldn’t yield any expected result. The account is gone and it’s only left with fan pages of Jay-Z on the App.
