Conor McGregor's Altercation With Machine Gun Kelly At The 2021 MTV VMAs

The 2021 MTV Music Video Awards went down last night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn—and it was a mask-off event where Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly got into it over a photo-taking snub leading to a push. If not for security, Conor McGregor probably would have finished Machine Gun Kelly in two seconds but thanks to the security who acted swiftly and saved MGK from a punch that could have landed him in the grave or on a hospital bed for months. The altercation between Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly caught the attention of the media and it was reported as usual with all the videos captured while it happened on the red carpet.

TMZ reports that a source very close to McGregor disclosed that the UFC fighter wanted to say hello to Machine Gun Kelly and probably take a photo with him but then since MGK thinks he’s above taking photos with people like Conor, he said something that the fighter couldn’t hear and then things became ugly when Kelly’s security pushed McGregor away. The source continues that Conor didn’t understand what was going on and was shocked about how he was treated. He was obviously expecting MGK to treat him like the fighter everyone wants to meet and take selfies with and since that never happened, he was a bit surprised and wanted to get into it with him.

According to People Magazine, Conor McGregor was at the MTV VMAs to perform a simple task—that’s to present an award to one of the winners of the 2021 MTV Music Video Awards but then, he decided to extend his duties by getting a photo with Machine Gun Kelly who was busy with his girlfriend, Megan Fox on the red carpet. Conor got snubbed and then ended up being pushed away by MGK’s security. This is what happens when you do not mind your business on the red carpets of such events.

In one of the altercation videos, Conor McGregor could be seen spilling his drink at Machine Gun Kelly and his girlfriend Megan Fox who according to TMZ were nearby. Security guys at both sides were quick to break things up before it got ugly.

According to Conor McGregor who spoke to Entertainment Tonight after the altercation, absolutely nothing happened between them and then teased Machine Gun Kelly that he doesn’t fight with “little vanilla boy rappers”. Dude actually referred to MGK as a “little vanilla boy” rapper. MGK would definitely get into it again with him but this time around, on a song.

Here is what Conor McGregor said to Entertainment Tonight when asked about the details of what led to the fight:

“Absolutely nothing. I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy. Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean. I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”

Machine Gun Kelly who was probably angry about the incident declined to speak about it and hit the mic of Variety’s Marc Malkin when he asked him about what exactly led to the altercation. But MGK’s better half, Megan Fox had to save the situation by letting Marc know that they aren’t allowed to speak about it. “We’re not allowed to say”, she said.

A representative from McGregor’s team had to let everyone know that the fighter doesn’t know Machine Gun Kelly and that he only knows him as someone who attended his last fight. “Conor does not know MGK other than someone who attended his last fight,” the Rep said.

Despite the altercation, Machine Gun Kelly pulled himself up, performed with Kourtney Kardashian‘s future baby daddy, Travis Barker, and won an award on the night.
